What if your favourite painting on the wall could come alive? Well, we’re not sure about all the paintings, but Gustav Klimt’s iconic paintings, which were created during his “Golden Phase” from 1899 through 1910, are brought into real life by photographer Inge Prader. The talented photographer has managed to recreate selected iconic works with the help of real models.
Klimt’s associated with Art Nouveau style – a bold and elaborate aesthetic that originated at around the turn of the 20th century. This artwork portrays ornate and rich works that reflected the optimism of the time. Even Prader has tried her best to recreate some of the famous scenes from the history.
Some of the painting-inspired photographs feature the luscious golden hues of the occasionally erotic scenes. Models are intertwined and surrounded by gold ornaments to bring out the warm decadence of the original paintings. This photo series was shot to be displayed at Life Ball, an annual event in Vienna that seeks to raise funds to help fight HIV/AIDS.
Comparing the photographs with original paintings, you’ll feel that Prader and her models have done a fantastic job. Check out the images given below to judge her photos yourself.
