Being an independent artist is a huge challenge in Indian music industry, as it revolves around Bollywood. So, it can be really hard to create a fan base without a strong label promoting you. But there are prolific musicians like Shubhank Sharma, who are making impressive music on their own terms despite all the challenges.

While most people create paper art for decorative purposes, Filipino artist Patrick Cabra aims to raise awareness for endangered species through his series of intricate animal papercuts. Created delicately with multiple layers of paper, each artwork features unique natural characteristics of the animal such as sharp canines, fierce eyes, warm fur, etc.

Ballpoint pen is a simple writing instrument for most of us, but can be used to create magical art pieces if it’s in the hands of the right artist. Philippines-based talented artist Ralvin Dizon creates striking photorealistic portraits that are drawn using ballpoint pens.

Paper artist and graphic designer Yulia Brodskaya creates colourful quilled paper portraits, which seem to be the hybrids between painting and sculpture. Paper quilling is the centuries-old art form of filigree in which strips of paper are rolled, shaped and glued together to create various decorative designs.
